OMC cuts long-time cardiac services director position

February 27th, 2013 - 5:52am

(Port Angeles) -- A longtime heart-health advocate at Olympic Medical Center is losing her job.

Olympic Medical Center will cut RN Judy Tordini's position as of the middle of March.

Tordini has been the director of cardiac services and with the hospital for about 30 years.

She tells KONP, Olympic Medical Physicians will take over as the cardiac services department is restructured. Tordini says she and her husband, Dr. Art Tordini, are not planning to leave the area.

In her time, Tordini grew the cardiac services from a closet-sized space at Olympic Memorial Hospital into a rehabilitation and community education resource on cardiac issues. Tordini organized free lectures each month in both Port Angeles and Sequim and made numerous public appearances to promote heart health in the area.
