Pirate ladies bow, men keep going

The Peninsula Pirate ladies suffered an 82-71 overtime loss to Yakima Sunday, but the men kept trophy hopes alivew tih a 77-59 win over Walla Walla.

MEN - Peninsula held a 39-34 halftime advantage and shot the lights out in the second half to beat Walla Walla. The Pirates hit 34 of 65 shots for the game, led by Xavir Bazile's 24. Donald Gaddy added 16.

Peninsula meets Centralia Monday at 10. The Blazers got by Lane, 62-59.

WOMEN - It was a tale of two halves for the Pirates, as they won the first half, 41-26, but lost the second half, 43-28 and were outscored 13-2 in the overtime session. The loss came evn though the Pirates made 31 of 62 shots for the game. Kasmine Yarde had 21, Jesse Ellis 18.

The game marked the last for Yarde, Ellis, Taylor Larson, Jonica Durbin, Abigail Jones, Karli Brakes and Leisl Brown in Pirate uniforms.
