(Port Angeles) - The national park in our backyard is the top-visited national park in Washington state.

A National Park Service report on visitors and the money they spend says about three million visitors came to Olympic National Park in 2011.

The figures are part of a larger report that says seven million people visited national parks in Washington in 2011 and spent $286 million.

The report says spending on lodging, meals, gasoline and other expenses supported more than 4,100 jobs.

Mount Rainier National Park was second with more than 1 million visitors.

Other national parks in the state are North Cascades National Park, San Juan Islands National Historical Park and Lewis and Clark National Historical Park.
