(Port Angeles) -- The auditorium at Port Angeles High School has a new name, and now a new sign to mark it.
While most folks in Port Angeles think of the large performance hall at the Port Angeles High School as the "high school auditorium," it is officially named the Performing Arts Center.
The recently-formed Friends of the Port Angeles Performing Arts Center completed the first prominent sign to make the name more widely known.
The sign is located at the foot of the stairs leading to the center from the lower high school campus.
It was funded as a class gift by the Port Angeles High School class of 2012 and constructed by current students in the PAHS Machine Technology classes.
The sign's design adapts the PAHS Roughrider logo seen in the other principal campus signs and incorporates the Performing Arts Center name in prominent stainless steel lettering.
The sign installation marks the fifth project completed by the Friends of the Port Angeles Performing Arts Center since the group was founded a year ago.
