Fired PUD foreman gets job back

(Port Angeles) -- A line foreman fired by the Clallam PUD can have his job back.
An arbitrator ruled yesterday that Timm Kelly was wrongfully terminated and should be reinstated.
PUD officials fired Kelly last April. They said Kelly violated PUD policy by receiving extra money for living in Forks as a line foreman, not residing there full time.
The PUD pays some employees extra money for living in specific service areas because they are considered a first responder.
After his termination, Kelly filed a complaint with the state Public Employment Relations Commission. The PUD agreed to binding arbitration in the case under Kelly's union contract when the matter couldn't be settled.
Kelly is president and business manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 997. He accused the PUD of unfair labor practices over his dismissal.
In a statement, the PUD says it will adhere to the arbitrator's ruling in returning Kelly to work.
