Elderly Sequim couple hurt in Highway 101 crash

(Sequim) -- Two elderly Sequim residents were hurt when the car they were in pulled in front of a pickup on Highway 101 west of Sequim.

The crash happened yesterday afternoon about 2:30 six miles west of Sequim.

Troopers say 92-year-old Russell Weber turned left from a private driveway to head east on Highway 101. His Subaru was hit by a pickup driven by 59-year-old Patricia Bekkevar. Weber and his 91-year-old wife Rosalie were both hurt in the crash and transported to Olympic Medical Center.

Bekkevar was not hurt.

Troopers say charges are pending.
