Man tries to flee custody at Clallam Courthouse

March 18th, 2013 - 6:52am

(Port Angeles) -- A Sequim man was taken back into custody when he tried to escape from the Clallam County Courthouse.

21-year-old Trevor Durham was in District Court Friday.

Judge Rick Porter had ordered Durham be taken into custody.

Durham reportedly said to the corrections officer: "I'm not going with you" several times before he attempted to exit the courtroom.

After a brief struggle and assistance from District Court probation staff, Durham was taken into custody and taken to the Clallam County jail.

Durham was original being sent to the jail on a previous charge but has now been arrested for attempted escape in the 3rd degree and resisting arrest, both misdemeanor charges.

No one was hurt in the incident.
