Nippon, union at odds over labor deal

(Port Angeles) -- The union representing some of the workers at Nippon Paper says it will file a second, unfair labor claim against the company.
That after Nippon implemented a new contract not ratified by the union.
The move came after almost two years of negotiations resulted in no agreement.
Mill officials say the mill must trim costs in order to stay in business due to a steep decline in the paper market.
The Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers Local 155 has already filed one complaint with the National Labor Relations Board, and said this week it planned to add to that complaint.
So far, the hourly workers continue to show up for shifts at the mill.
