Sequim school moving forward with facilities analysis

(Sequim) -- The Sequim School District is making plans to address the future of its buildings.
The school board has given the go-ahead for an architecture firm to provide an analysis of its facilities. "BLRB" Architects of Tacoma, will assess Sequim's current schools and offer proposals on potential building projects. But those projects may mean a bond issues going before Sequim district voters.
For now though, planning comes first as the district is forming an advisory committee.
Superintendent Kelly Shea says one of the concerns for the school district is to keep unauthorized persons out of their buildings.
Shea says they also must address increases in the student population as the district is at capacity now.
Shea says they're counting on community input during this process, because any improvements or new building needs to be funded by local bonds approved by the voters.
