Earthquake hits north Peninsula

(Sequim) -- The earth moved yesterday on the north Olympic Peninsula.

A moderate earthquake rattled the Port Angeles-Sequim area about 8:30 AM.

Geologists say a 3.4 magnitude quake struck 23 miles east-southeast of Port Angeles.

The quake was about 30 miles deep.

Many local residents said they felt a rumble similar to a large truck passing outside.

No reports of damage.
