Derelict dock owner discovered

April 18th, 2013 - 6:23am

(Sequim) -- Crews have chopped up and carted off a derelict dock that washed up along near Sequim Bay.

It turns out the flotsam was part of an old dock that belonged to the Washington Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Complex based at the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge.

The 200 square-foot dock was spotted over the weekend at a Clallam County park at Port Williams.

But until there were reports in the media about the dock, no one knew just where it came from.

Wildlife refuge officials say the dock drifted away from donated property in Blyn that was brought in as part of the wildlife refuge complex.
