April 25th, 2013 - 5:45am

(Port Angeles) -- After three months at 7.5 percent, Washington's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to an estimated 7.3 percent in March.

The state Employment Security Department says that's the lowest unemployment rate since December 2008.

But locally, it's a different story. Clallam County's unemployment rate is now at 10.2 percent. That's down from 11.1 percent a year ago. State figures show just over 21 thousand people are now considered employed in Clallam County.

Jefferson county's rate dropped from last March's 10.9% to 10.1% this March.
