No new sentencing date for PA man who admitted strangling woman

April 26th, 2013 - 6:27am

(Port Angeles) -- Sentencing has been postponed for a man who has admitted strangling a developmentally disabled Port Angeles woman.

No new date has been set yet for sentencing for Kevin Bradfield. He had been scheduled to be sentenced yesterday in Clallam County Superior Court.

Now, a new court hearing for Bradfield has been set for two weeks. The court will take up a defense objection the recommended sentence of more than 26 years in prison is too long.

Bradfield agreed earlier this year he would be found guilty in the death of Jennifer Pimentel in 2011.

He changed his plea in the case after a jailhouse letter was intercepted in which he wrote he planned to murder Pimentel to cover up a rape accusation.

Bradfield later told police he strangled Pimentel in fall of 2011 in his girlfriend's apartment, then disposed of her body in a wooded area near the Hood Canal Bridge.
