Gase to run for PA council

April 29th, 2013 - 5:38am

(Port Angeles) -- A longtime businessman and real estate agent will make a run for Port Angeles city council.

Dan Gase says he will file to run for the seat now held by Brooke Nelson. Nelson plans to step down at the end of her term this year.

Gase says he thinks he can help the city chart a healthy course that is environmentally prudent, attractive to visitors and helpful to local business.

Gase says he also wants to make sure city services remain viable and affordable for residents. Gase has lived in Port Angeles since 1967. He has served on numerous volunteer boards and is also currently a member of the city's civil service commission. He ran unsuccessfully two years ago for a state house seat.

Gase is the second candidate to formally announce intentions to run for one of four council positions on this year's ballot for Port Angeles city council.
