PC adds to alternative fuel program

(Port Angeles) -- Peninsula College is now one of just a few colleges in the country training technicians on vehicles that use fuels other than gasoline.

PC is the first in the state to offer an accredited, one-year "Alternative Fuels Certificate" program.

The curriculum prepares students to work on hybrid and electric vehicles, but also includes instruction on compressed natural gas, propane, bio-diesel, flex fuel, and ethanol powered systems.

The program currently admits 15 students per academic year, and offers two different, Associate in Applied Science degrees along with 8 short term proficiency certificates. Persons interested program should contact Peninsula College.
