Collins to run for reelection to PA council

May 6th, 2013 - 11:26am

(Port Angeles) -- Port Angeles deputy mayor Brad Collins will run for reelection.

Collins says he will file next week to run for his first full, elected term. Collins was appointed to the position in 2011 to fill the seat won by Larry Little. Little resigned before taking office.

Collins says significant changes have taken place in city administration in the last year. He calls it a fresh approach that he would like to continue.

He says utility rates remain the number one issue facing city residents. But the city is facing steep charges for stormwater treatment, repairs at the former landfill site and clean up of the harbor.

Collins currently serves as the executive director of Serenity House. He worked for 15 years as the community development director for the city of Port Angeles.
