Reduction in bail denied for bulldozer rampage suspect

(Port Angeles) -- A request for reduction of bail was denied Friday morning for accused bulldozer rampager Barry Swegle.

Swegle made his third appearance in court since the incident a week ago Friday. Friday, Swegle's attorney, Karen Unger, Unger told Judge George Wood that Swegle posed no threat to the community, that he had not attacked a person, when he allegedly leveled homes and a power pole in the Gales Addition.

She also said Swegle had no history of violence, and called the million-dollar bail "excessive." Judge Wood, however, said he considers Swegle a possible threat to the community, and denied the bail reduction. Another court date has been det for June 14th. set for Swegle.
