Arrest made in PA smash and grab of pawn shop

May 20th, 2013 - 5:39am

(Port Angeles) -- A Port Angeles man remains in jail today in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery at a local pawn shop that resulted in a high speed chase through town.

29-year-old Bret Dotson was arrested Friday and booked on preliminary charges of burglary, theft and stolen property possession. He also has three outstanding warrants.

Early May 11th, police were called to a break-in at EZ Pawn in downtown Port Angeles. While enroute, cops passed a suspect vehicle. They say the vehicle sped away leading them on a chase along Mount Angeles Road. Officers lost track of the Kia Sportage after it plowed through a number of yards of Tiller and Doss Roads. The car was eventually found later in a parking lot.

Police say the investigation continues, and more arrests could be coming in the case.
