(Port Angeles) -- The Port Angeles School District has called on a retired administrator to take over its number two administrative post.
This week, the school board approved bringing Mary Ann Unger back to serve as the interim deputy associate superintendent beginning July 1.
Dr. Unger steps in for Michelle Reid, who leaves Port Angeles schools to serve as superintendent of South Kitsap School District.
Unger still lives in Port Angeles. She retired from the school district in two years ago. She was an administrator in various capacities for 18 years with district. She has been serving as an adjunct clinical faculty member for the University of Washington.
The district has not announced permanent plans for the deputy associate superintendent position.
