Olympic National Park turns 75

June 28th, 2013 - 5:34am

(Port Angeles) -- Olympic National Park is waving entrance fees tomorrow to mark the park's 75th anniversary.

The park also plans a special breakfast and public picnic to mark the occasion.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a bill establishing Olympic National Park on June 29th, 1938.

Park concessionaire Aramark will host a VIP breakfast Saturday morning at Lake Crescent Lodge. There will be other commemorative events at the lodge through the day. The public is invited to a picnic at Log Cabin Resort from 11:30 to 1:30 pm. That event will feature a barbecue, and refreshments and games.
