Sequim adding logo to middle of intersection

July 1st, 2013 - 5:41am

(Sequim) -- Drivers in Sequim's busiest intersection will soon be greeted by a large city logo.

The city plans to install the nine-foot diameter logo tonight at Sequim Avenue and Washington Street.

The logo will be in full color facing south on Sequim Avenue.

The city is installing the logo as another way to mark Sequim's 100th birthday.

City officials say they also wanted it in place before the city's Fourth of July celebration this week, which takes on some extra notes with the city's centennial.

The logo is also considered part of the improvements to downtown Sequim in which the city has added new street signs and other pedestrian elements.
