Sequim hotel evacuated

July 3rd, 2013 - 10:59am

(Sequim) -- The Holiday Inn Express hotel in Sequim was evacuated last night after an unidentified odor was detected inside the hotel.

Fire District Three spokesman Patrick Young says guests and staff smelled a wood or smoke scent. There were also reports of a haze in the air.

Young says that crews got there, they pulled the fire alarm to start the evacuation.

95 people and 4 staff members had to be moved out of the hotel. They were allowed to return about an hour later.

No injuries were reported and the odor was never determined.
