(Port Angeles) -- An Army official will make another apology to the city of Port Angeles for a late-night helicopter training mission last week that rattled nerves of residents.
Port Angeles Mayor Cherie Kidd met yesterday with Col. H. Charles Hodges Jr., and two officers with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Joint Base Lewis McChord. The Army apologized again for the Thursday night helicopter training exercise that Kidd says "terrorized my city."
Kidd says she met for an hour with the base commander. She says they listened to her concerns about helicopters that circled the city late at night with no notice to city officials.
Tonight, Hodges will attend the city council meeting in City Hall to apologize in person to council members and the public.
