Tribal canoes come to Port Angeles Tuesday

July 23rd, 2013 - 5:33am

Port Angeles -- More than two dozen tribal canoes will make landfall in Port Angeles this morning.

Hollywood Beach near City Pier is the next stop in the annual tribal canoe journey.

The canoes are expected to pull in about 9:30, but weather and tides could move that back. The public is invited to watch.

The canoes and their crews will stay in Port Angeles for two days.

Guards will stand by to watch the canoes that will stay at Hollywood Beach during the stay.

Eventually, the canoes and pullers will make their way to Taholah for the "Paddle to Quinault".
