Wildfire burning near Lake Crescent

(Lake Crescent) -- Crews are working to put out a small wildfire burning in Olympic National Park.
The Upper Falls Fire, is burning southwest of Barnes Point at Lake Crescent.
ONP spokesperson Barb Maynes says the fire is burning in steep rugged terrain upslope of Marymere Falls and is estimated to be 1.5 acres in size.
ONP and Washington Department of Natural Resources crews are on-scene and have begun fire suppression efforts. Impacts may include smoke in the Barnes Point area and along Highway 101 near Lake Crescent.
Maynes say they got a report last evening about 5:15 of the fire. Crews were on the scene fighting it at about six pm.
Currently, the Marymere Falls trails remains open. But, the trail may be closed if fire conditions change.
The fire is believed to be human caused and is under investigation.
