Alaska serial killer dumped body in Lake Crescent

(Anchorage, AK) -- An Alaska serial killer says he killed at least one person on the north Olympic Peninsula and dumped the body in Lake Crescent.
Investigators spent hours interviewing Israel Keyes who confessed to killing eight people across the country before he committed suicide last weekend in an Anchorage jail. Investigators believe Keyes may have murdered a dozen people.
They say he killed for pleasure and was only conflicted about how his notoriety would affect his loved ones.
Keyes lived in numerous places including Neah Bay.
He said he committed at least two murders in Washington state and dumped one of the bodies in a hundred feet of water in Lake Crescent. He used anchors to weigh the body down.
Keyes slit his wrist and strangled himself with bedding Sunday at the Anchorage Correctional Facility. He was facing federal murder charges in the kidnapping and death of an 18-year-old Samantha Koenig, who was abducted from an Anchorage coffee stand Feb. 1.
Keyes will be buried Sunday in Washington state.
