(Port Angeles) -- A Port Angeles man will spend two years in community custody for stealing nearly 31-thousand dollars in jewelry from his housemate in Sequim.
61-year-old Baldemar Gonzales was sentenced yesterday after making a plea deal in the case.
According to investigators, Gonzales stole jewelery in late 2011 and gave it to a trio of younger women at a motel.
Cops got wind of the case after an officer overhead one of the women talking to her father on the phone about the jewelery. The woman was in jail at the time.
Gonzales pleaded guilty July 30th to the theft as well as a drug charge for which he'll have to have treatment under the sentence.
Gonzales has several previous drug convictions from California and Oregon as well.
