(Port Angeles) -- A Port Angeles man has been jailed after what authorities called a domestic violence incident and abduction.
About 1:30 Sunday morning, Clallam County Deputies received a call of an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch along SR112 near the Elwha River Bridge.
Deputies later learned the vehicle may have involved a hit and run and possible abduction.
A second vehicle that was seen leaving the scene was described as travelling toward Port Angeles.
Law Enforcement found the second vehicle and stopped it near Albertson's where a male and female were contacted.
Chief criminal deputy Ron Cameron says further investigation revealed the man had allegedly assaulted the woman several times earlier in the day and took away her ability to call for help.
The woman was able to escape and leave in the vehicle but was pursued by the man and ran off the road near the bridge.
Deputies say he then made her get into his vehicle.
34-year-old Michael Huntzinger of Port Angeles was arrested. He remains in jail on 20-thousand dollars bond for assault and harrassment charges.
