PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. (AP) - A bomb threat prompted cancellation of several Washington state ferry runs Tuesday evening on the Port Townsend-Coupeville route.
Washington State Ferries announced service was resuming with an 8:30 p.m. sailing from Port Townsend and a 9:15 p.m. sailing from Coupeville.
The Peninsula Daily News reports that Washington State Patrol bomb squad investigators and local police responded to the Port Townsend terminal after a threat arrived via text message.
The newspaper said the Port Townsend ferry was held at the terminal while the area was checked by bomb-sniffing dogs.
