Victoria mayor to visit Port Angeles

(Port Angeles) -- The mayor of Victoria, Canada plans a visit to Port Angeles Friday to meet with Mayor Cherie Kidd and other city council members for a day-long tour aimed at encouraging more of Victoria's 400,000 residents to visit the Olympic Peninsula.

Victoria Mayor, Dean Fortin, is expected to arrive on Port Angeles at 8:00 AM on the Coho Ferry along with eight of his city councillors.

As part of the tour, Port Angeles mayor Cherie Kidd will host the Canadian delegation on a visit to the Hurricane Ridge Visitor's Center, and Lake Crescent Lodge and a viewpoint of the former Elwha Dam. Also included will be a look at the City's esplanade expansion project, and a demonstration of the new wireless mesh network hosted by police chief, Terry Gallagher.
