(Port Angeles) -- They'll celebrate one of the oldest buildings in Port Angeles Saturday.
Serenity House will recognize the 125th year of the first church building in Port Angeles. It's at the corner of First and Vine Streets and now houses Serenity House's thrift store.
Port Angeles deputy mayor Brad Collins recently retired from Serenity House, but took on a the project to get a new roof on the building through community donations.
Collins says they'll have a brief ceremony tomorrow morning at 11 at the store.
But the real celebration comes at noon at Jesse Webster Park. That's where they'll host a old-fashioned picnic and ice-cream social. People will be there in period costumes and there will be live music.
Plus you're encouraged to bring a picnic. The picnic baskets will be judged and you could win prizes.
There will also be some games to fit the theme of a hundred plus years ago at the event.
