Bulldozer rampage trial delayed

September 17th, 2013 - 5:44am

(Port Angeles) -- A man accused of going on a bulldozer rampage east of Port Angeles won't go on trial this month after all.

Clallam County Superior Court Judge George Wood yesterday delayed the trial for Barry Swegle.

Swegle was set to go on trial September 24th.

But Wood extended the trail date to give more time for a mental health evaluation for Swegle.

Swegle is being held on a million dollars bail on assault, burglary and malicious mischief charges.

Prosecutors allege Swegle damaged four homes with a piece of logging equipment, triggered by a long-standing property dispute with a neighbor in Gales Addition in May of this year.

Another review of Swegle's status will happen at the end off this month.
