County to make part of Black Diamond road safer

September 18th, 2013 - 6:21am

(Port Angeles) -- Clallam County officials say they're trying to make a section of Black Diamond Road safer.

County road engineer Ross Tyler says the county this week awarded Primo Construction of Carlsborg a 175-thousand dollar project to deal with a section of the road south of Port Angeles. Tyler says they'll widen a section of the north end of the road and put in wider shoulders.

Tyler says the county did a similar project on Laird Road about two years ago. The project will start just past the first big curve, near the church, and extend south about half a mile.
