Housing Resource Centers available for homeless

October 7th, 2013 - 6:03am

(Port Angeles) -- As winter approaches, the homeless on the Olympic Peninsula face additional challenges to find suitable shelter from the elements.

Also at risk, are people and families who are about to become homeless due to financial or personal hardship.

Fortunately, a solution already exists to provide help for anyone in this situation.

Housing Resource Centers are available in Port Angeles, Sequim and Forks, to assist anyone who faces the crisis of being or becoming homeless.

These Housing Resource Centers, or H-R-C's, are staffed in all three cities and are ready to provide help each weekday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, except for a few hours of the morning each Wednesday.

Kathy Wahto, the Executive Director of Serenity House in Port Angeles says that people who are resistant to accepting help, need to be encouraged to check out what's available and take the first step towards a better housing situation.
