Woman faces vehicular homicide charge after PA fatal

(Port Angeles) – A Port Angeles woman faces a charge of vehicular homicide after a car vs. pedestrian accident last night on Highway 101 just east of Golf Course Rd.
The Washington State Patrol says 49-year-old Bonita Bickford was struck by a westbound vehicle as she was walking across the Highway from south to north.
Troopers say Bickford was transported from the scene by ambulance and died at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.
Authorities say she was struck by a 1988 Chevy Beretta driven by 49-year-old Marlene Terese Brand of Port Angeles.
Brand is being held without bail at the Clallam County Jail in Port Angeles on a charge of Vehicular Homicide – with Alcohol involved. She was not injured.
The accident was reported at 8:18 p.m.
Troopers continue their investigation.
