Utility committee recommends slight PA rate hike

October 10th, 2013 - 5:57am

(Port Angeles) Overall utility rates will see a small increase in Port Angeles, if recommendations by the City's Utility Advisory Committee are put into effect.

City staffers made their case in an hour-long presentation Tuesday evening to the U-A-C, half of which is comprised of council persons and city officials.

City Manager Dan McKeen says the U-A-C recommends about a 2-dollar a month increase in the total combined utility bill that will help fund replacement of capital.

If adopted by the City Council next Tuesday, the rate hike will take effect the first of next year.
