Sequim school to reveal restoration

October 18th, 2013 - 5:37am

Sequim - - Sequim's OLD High School will relive its past this Saturday, as the venerable building hosts the public to view its restoration. Since 2007, a group of building trades students have been working to restore the interior of the former high school to useable administrative offices.

Patsene Dashiell, the volunteer coordinator for the Sequim School District, says part of the festivities will include guided tours of the school by alumni.

The students who worked on this refurbishment project have made it possible for a number of administrative offices to be housed under one, “historical” roof.

Originally constructed back on 1920, at 503 N. Sequim Avenue, the building went through a series of additions in the 1930's, and finished as a building with working classrooms sometime in the late 1980's. Ceremonies this Saturday get under way at 1:00 PM, and will run through 4:00 PM.
