(Sequim) – An annual gala in Sequim Saturday topped a million dollars raised for the Olympic Medical Center Foundation.
The 11th annual Harvest of Hope wine makers dinner event raised almost $80-thousand dollars during the auction and fund-a-need portion. OMC Foundation president Karen Rogers says that enough to push the total raised during the 11 years of the event to just over a million dollars.
The event featured a gourmet dinner provided by Chef Katherine Kitts, and featured wines from Chile and from Bar Hop Brewing of Port Angeles. Todd Ortloff of KONP radio emceed and hosted the event.
The gala once again raised funds for local peninsula cancer patients being treated at Olympic Medical Cancer Center through the provision of services, programs and equipment.
The event also featured the presentation of the first Rick Kaps award, given to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in remembrance of the former Sequim High School coach and educator. The Alliance has been a partner with OMC in establishing a world class cancer facility since 2002.
