(Sequim) The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is one step closer in its efforts to bring an updated library to the City of Sequim.
The N.O.L.S. held a public meeting in late September, where Berk Consulting and SHKS Architects presented attendees with possibilities of what a new library facility might look like. The findings were based on a survey conducted by Berk Consulting, that gauged population trends and needs for the Sequim area.
The architects have determined that the existing library site could potentially accommodate a building of up to 20,000 square feet in size, should the library board approve an update to the facility. The library is currently 6,000 square feet. Another interesting portion of the survey projects that by the year 2043, Sequim's population could reach 34,300 people.
