Sequim caps centennial this weekend

(Sequim) – Sequim officially marks 100 years as a city, concluding its centennial celebration on Saturday night.

The city holding its “Finale Dinner” at the 7 Cedars Casino.

Sequim has been celebrating its centennial since last October as the official date of its founding approaches. Sequim was officially incorporated on October 31, 1913.

Sequim's Mayor, Ken Hayes, says they'll put a cap on the year Saturday night.

Hayes says one of the keynote speakers, was to be Governor Jay Inslee, but that a scheduling conflict made it impossible for him to attend.

Tickets for the Sequim Centennial Finale Dinner are limited, and can be purchased at Sequim City Hall. The ticket cost is $50 per person and includes a commemorative champagne flute engraved with the Sequim Centennial logo. The evening activities begin at 5 p.m. Saturday.
