Weekend sports review

Here's a brief review of weekend sports:

CROSS COUNTRY - Sequim won the 2A cross country title at windy, rainy, muddy American Lake golf course Saturday, led by the 10th place finish of Peter Ohnstad. Brandon DeSpain was 12th as Sequim had 77 points.

Port Angeles finished 4th and will advance to state, led by Peter Butler who was 4th overall.

PA girls finished 3rd to qualify for state, led by Willow Suess who was 11th.

TENNIS - PA junior Alex Brown plays Monday for a possible trip to state next spring after going 2-2 in the district meet in Bremerton.

VOLLEYBALL - North K beat Sequim 3-2 to win the Olympic League volleyball tournament in Sequim. NK is first to WCD, Sequim 2nd. PA lost to Sequim, 3-1, then beat Klahowya 3-2 to take third to district at Franklin Pierce next Friday. PA will be in a loser-out game, Sequim gets a first-round bye and will play Saturday.
