Sequim PD completes theft investigation at FD 3 station

(Sequim) Ė The Sequim Police Department has completed its initial investigation into the theft of medical pharmaceuticals from the District 3 fire station in Sequim.
Fire District 3 discovered the theft following a routine audit of their medical narcotic supplies.
They reported the missing narcotics to the Police Department for investigation.
Detectives concluded that probable cause exists to believe that a 40-year-old male employee of the Fire Department is responsible for the theft of the narcotics.
The investigation file has been submitted to the Clallam County Prosecutorís Office for final review and determination if criminal charges will be filed.
The investigation has determined that only the one suspect was involved in the theft and none of the drugs were used for illicit drug sales in the community.
It was also determined that at no time were any citizens or patients placed in jeopardy by virtue of the thefts from the Fire Departmentís drug boxes.
It was in fact, the Fire Departmentís close monitoring of their drug supplies which led to the prompt detection of the thefts and subsequent reporting to the Police Department.
