Former firefighter named as suspect in drug theft

(Sequim) – Authorities are identifying who they believed stole narcotics from Fire District Three.
According to the Peninsula Daily News, Sequim police believe 40-year-old Paul Rynearsan was solely responsible for the theft of the drugs from a locked box at the Sequim fire station. Police believe he did not sell the morphine he stole and most likely used it himself.
Rynearson quit his job as a paramedic/firefighter in mid-October.
As we reported last week, Sequim police wrapped their investigation report and forwarded the case on to the Clallam County prosecutor's office. The suspect was not named in that initial report.
No formal charges have been filed yet in the case.
