(Port Angeles) -- The Port Angeles Lions Club Radio KONP Food-a-thon earned 38-thousand-504 dollars Thursday.

Thanks to all our listeners on Newsradio KONP and the support of many local businesses and individuals in the community.

The coffers were filled with hundreds of donations along with a gift of more than 53-hundred dollars from the employees and owners of the Black Ball Ferry Line.

There was an anonymous donation of 5-thousand dollars.

Local elementary school students collected more than a thousand pounds of Peanut Butter in their annual challenge.

Other generous contributions included a 25-hundred dollar gift by Hermann Brothers/Evergreen Fiber.

The money raised goes to the Port Angeles Food Bank, serving hundreds of area families each month.
