(Port Angeles) – The city of Port Angeles is poised to pass next year's budget tonight.
The city council will take the final vote on the 129-million-dollar spending plan.
The budget includes holding back nearly 309-thousand dollars in lodging tax money that normally would go to the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce pending a closer review of the Chamber's marketing plan to draw tourists to the area. The city also won't pay the Clallam EDC about 15 thousand dollars at this time.
The city is also adding back about 46 thousand dollars in money for Health and Human Services. That appropriation was eliminated in the preliminary budget.
The city also will lump together 110-thousand dollars for repairs at Civic Field. Originally, the money was split for specific repairs, now the city council will decide further what repairs will be done.
There is also 300-thousand dollars included to replace the roof on the Vern Burton Center.
The city council holds one more public hearing on the budget tonight at 6 pm. before taking a final vote.
