County approves budget, property tax increase
December 5th, 2013 - 5:39am
(Port Angeles) –- Clallam County commissioners this week unanimously approved next year's budget.
But commissioners split on taking a one percent state-allowed increase in property taxes.
Commissioners Mike Chapman and Mike Doherty voted in favor of the move, but commissioner Jim McEntire voted against the move.
The one percent will bring in about 99-thousand dollars in additional revenue.
The new budget also incorporates a shorter work week for Clallam employees in an effort to shore up costs.
