Former Sequim paramedic pleads not guilty to stealing drugs

(Port Angeles) – A former paramedic has pleaded not guilty to charges he stole drugs from Fire District Three.
40-year-old Paul Rynearson appeared in court Friday facing second-degree burglary and third-degree theft charges.
Investigators accuse Rynearson of twice stealing painkillers this fall while he was employed by the fire district.
Rynearson resigned from his position in mid October, after the district placed him on administrative leave for other reasons.
Investigators believe Rynearson stole the drugs for his own use.
He is expected by in court in mid January.
