Sequim picks design for new city hall

(Sequim) – A new city hall and police station in Sequim will have a farm feel.
The Sequim city council this week approved plans for the new building.
It will be a barn-style design drafted by Integrus Architecture and Lydig Construction.
The council unanimously picked the design earlier this week.
The facility is expected to cost around 12 million dollars. Total cost for the project will be about 15 million dollars.
Along with the barn-like, pitched-roof styling, it will also feature a plaza area near the east entrance. The 30-thousand square-foot building will be located just east of the current city hall and will unite the police station and all the city's office under one roof.
During an open house on the designs last week, Sequim residents overwhelmingly favored the Lydig design.
Work on the new city hall could start as soon as next spring and be finished in 2015.
