Fire destroys mobile home near Port Angeles

(Port Angeles) A mobile home went up in flames west of Port Angeles yesterday.

Fire District Two crews were called to the single-wide located in a wrecking yard along Highway 101 near Reddick Road about 5:30 pm.

No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. However, the homeowner's dog perished in the fire.

The trailer was owned by Phil Sisson.

The structure was not insured. The fire left it uninhabitable and the homeowner will be staying with a friend for a few days.

Fire investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire, but they do not believe it to be suspicious. According to investigators, the fire initially started in the south end of house, when it flashed over and fully engulfed the entire structure.
