Sequim moving foward on new city hall construction

January 7th, 2014 - 5:33am

(Sequim) Sequim city leaders will go over design plans today with a company tabbed to build a new city hall and police station.

Lydig Construction of Bellevue is now officially under contract for the nearly 12-million dollar building.

Today, more specifics of the design will be brought to city leaders, after the city manager signed a contract with the company yesterday.

The new city hall and police station in Sequim will be a barn-style design. It will feature a pitched-roof style and a plaza area near the east entrance.

The 30-thousand square-foot building will be located just east of the current city hall and will unite the police station and all the city's office under one roof.

The new facility is expected to be finished sometime next year.

The overall project is expected to cost close to 15 million dollars.
